stringy stuff everywhere

I have this stringy stuff all over the place not really sure what to do about it.

I don't understand how I am getting it I just tested my rodi unit and I cant think of whats causing it the only thing I changed is I am using a brute can to store water

Cyanobacteria. Hard to discover the exact cause as several things or just one could be the root. You can try these methods first before going chemical.

3 days black out. No lights on.
Increased flow.
Increase filtration.
Increase water changes.
Constant Manual removal.
If all else fails or cyano increases try one of several chemical treatments. ChemiClean being the most commonly used.

I am cutting back on the lights from 10 to 8 hours and I will be changing 10gallons every other day and flow has been increased.

Just increase water changes if it gets worse than the chemi clean I used it before and does help

For me when I had cyano I would just increase flow to that particular are and within a few days it had cleared up.

remind me Tx - what size is your tank? I think manual removal, increasing flow, and reduction in your light cycle will probably go a long way to decreasing the cyano. I might be hesitant to change water that aggressively.

I've changed 100% of my water on several occasions over a weeks time with no ill effects at all. It does no harm period.

It is a 75g tank

I'm not sold on the aggressive water changes as a solution but there's always differences of opinion in this hobby

I increased my flow and changed my purigen/chemipure out. Gone in a week with manual removal as well

It has already slowed down since last night not near as much has grown today im hoping it will go away soon since I started treating it very quickly
