it looks like a polyp or two of a torch but it's not in a skeleton it's growing like a sponge would be. One pic of the actual polypy thing, one of where it's growing out of the rock. In the first pic there's no flow and it stays horizontal.
Maybe @Lionfish Lair ?

Alright....so Ive found a few things that look like it and its all being IDd as Syconoids. (sponges) so I guess Ill leave it be or move that rock to a place it wont be in danger of gowing onto frags.
I did find some other flat sponges early this morning too so no salty, it wont nuke the tank!

Looking at picture #1 I think a possibility could be cerith snail eggs that came detached from the rock. I've seen this in my tank and thought that it looked similar. If it's stiffer and not waving around then I think it's not snail eggs.

Thats interesting. Its definitely rigid. theres no flow in the pic and it sticks straight out lol (we had a good laugh about analogies at work this morning)

I've got one of those in my tank, has been growing over the past few months. If it's like mine, soft spongy texture and grows like a little branch that is kind of stiff but waves with movement, I wouldn't worry. I'll take a pic of it when I get home. It's just a sponge.

Iv loads in my DT all growing in the open , I'll post some pic tonight
