No I’m not going to do a strip tease I was wondering if anyone had pics of WWC Strip Tease Acropora preferably a colony. I know there has to be some one out there with it since every time @WWC post one for sell is sold that day.

Yeah, thats blatantly a regular ol' SSC.

Im trying to get better at learning all the comic book names corals are given in the hobby these days, I read "striptease" in the title, so I clicked on it anticipating something really neat and different.

Well, needless to say, the "tease" part is accurate.

Just wait until you see @SeaDweller ’s peanut butter and jelly.

He definitely has some nice looking sticks, not sure if I have seen his PB&J acro though.

So many comic book names these days, sometimes multiple for the same color morph/species, which isnt the case with taxonomic latin names, but people seem to care less and less about actual scientific names anymore, back in the day though, only a handful of acropora had comic book names, even those usually included the species though like-
Blue hokie, tricolor valida, rainbow spatty, ant insignis, surf and turf loisettae, christmas mirabilis, etc etc.

I would rather buy a 6” colony of this coral from divers den and get a guarentee on it than buy a frag for the same price. Imagine how much they are making on each colony they buy. They are tripling their money on the purchased coral for each frag they sell. How many frags in a 6” colony? I am not sure but it’s a LOT. I wonder what wwc will say about this specific piece, probably would say it has much brighter coloration or something.

This is WWC Striptease. Probably about 12-14 months from a 1" frag. Growth stunted a little while I skirmished with Dinos off and on for 6 months. Honestly it is one of the few IMO that looks a little better when pale. With dirty water like now (.15 / 20), it is a little too green for my taste. Still like it though. My pink lemonade is much lighter and has some pastel blue in it which this does not.

I'd love to see some others--especially if they've colored up any differently.

And a correction, that was bought 16 months ago. The WYSIWYG photo is MUCH more blue. And this was the slowest grower of that batch of sticks.

I guess it's in the same vein as BC Hyperberry? I have SSC and hyperberry and they DO look different. At least in my tank, SSC is neon yellow/light green skin with orange and red corallite tips. The hyperberry is this bright green skin with red tips.

Thanks @ScottB just want to see what someone else looked like or others opinions on it I picked up this frag extremely cheap from wwc ebay auction (I guess no one else wanted it) but I do agree it’s similar to the starwberry shortcake but the colors in this a much more vibrant then my strawberry shortcake and deeper aqua/blue/ base color and more of a deep purple then a light purple/pink of the SSC. (Pic was taken with cannon m50 and Ef 100 macro lens 1st under white lights no blues and un edited 2nd blue light unedited )

Looking at these pics, and hearing the description of others I am nearly second guessing my own coral ID. Looking back at the WYSIWYG pic there is more blue like pictured above.

Time to dig out my stock sheets and do some comparing to what I see now. My mind -- and my frag racks -- get pretty jumbled after 6-12 months.

Im curious those of you with striptease what kind of par are you keeping it at? Mine started lighten up a little on the green color but has good polyp extension and seems happy by all other signs

Honestly I have no idea what par but it’s 12” from the top of the water under a Radion running at 60%
