Struggling a bit. What am I missing here?

I thought multimeters were misleading?
Saltwater is highly conductive and will almost always show some voltage. Voltage isn't the problem, current is.
And I didn't think there was an easy way to test for current?

Current is a problem in that it can be fatal to humans when passing through the heart, but stray voltage can still be an issue. I don't believe there are many living creatures particularly fond of voltage being constantly applied - even with very little current.

Ground your multimeter and stick the hot lead in the water at a few different spots - see what comes up.

FWIW, my tank reads 0.00 volts w/ a multimeter.

Thanks everyone for the input. Based on feedback for everyone I am going to do a few things. For the record, remeasured Mag since I hadn't in a while. Its still sitting at 1350ppm. A little lower than I think I am comfortable with but going to change things one at a time to better verify how things react.

1. Less photo period of lights
2. Feed more to 'dirty' the water. I was mostly feeding only flake food and Reef Chili prior and everyone seemed happy but the coral. going to start with feeding more mysis and mixed foods to see how far that gets me.
3. More fish. I didn't add any after upgrading to my 80 gallon from my 55. Went to the LFS yesterday and picked up another platinum clown, 2 damsels, a lawnmower blenny, and a singapore angel. This brings me up to 9 fish, all of decent size and getting along nicely. Should provide plenty of poop in the tank :P
4. Research and test for stray voltage/current in tank.
