Struggling elegance coral

Can anyone help me out with my poor elegance coral. It's been struggling for a week or so. Tonight I fed it, seemed to respond but now all of it's tentacles have disappeared and the body is all swollen. Here's a pic. All of my other corals are doing well

How long have you had it and do you know if it's from Australia or Indonesia? The ones from Australia fair much better

It's an Australia and have had it for about a year. It was originally in my son's 10 gallon nano and was doing really well but then he gave up...enter me, a beginner reefer with a new 35 gallon tank. To be honest it's never looked at it's best but for a couple of months it was thriving with regular feeding etc. Just over the past week it started to close, just thought I'd give it a bit of a feed tonight. Really looks terrible....

I have 2 and the new one, which is same as yours I think, is doing exactly the same! All parameters are fine but...

The elegance coral is notorious for this exact thing, most do well for a while, then they st art to lose their tentacles and shrivel up, some say it's a disease particular to this coral. I have one that lost all of its tentacles and looked really bad, I placed it in a shadowy spot and left it alone, it's been a month or so, and it's recovering nicely, tentacles are growing back, i hope yours gets better

So....elegance update. After feeding it's recovering well although could just be a coincidence as I've heard feeding isn't really necessary. Tentacles still short for an elegance though. I have nowhere else to place it in my tank but my bigger tank arrives Wednesday. Hoping it'll last a while until I can relocate, as suggested in a more shaded spot.

Be patient, my best advice,but,tough for me to follow,mine looked like this one a month ago, it's just now coming out of its funk,but,it's getting better
