Yep. It was large cell amphidinium, and they lost some photosynthetic pigments over 2 weeks in darkness, but they didn't care. No decrease in population or in their movement. Still scooting around.I may be misremembering but I believe our resident dino expert (@taricha) actually grew out a strain of dinos in complete darkness for a long period of time. I suspect they are never completely dependent on photosynthesis.
So initially I started with water changes, 5g once a week. But that really had no effect or maybe even a negative effect it was keeping NO3 and PO4 at undetectable levels. So I stopped the water changes and started dosing vibrant at 3ml per 20gal weekly, added pods and started feeding more often.other than that just really aggressive manual removal. I’ve been testing every two days watching NO3 and PO4. Today it tested at: salinity 35ppt alk 7.1 ca 475 ph 8.6 no3 3ppm po4 0.03ppmPlease do
