I got a kick out of this. My puffer spends a good amount of the day in his spot in the rocks. Most afternoons a few hours before feeding time my snowflake comes out, expecting food to be coming soon.

They both want the exact same spot. Neither one is aggressive but neither will give in either. Here they were yesterday.

That is one of the coolest pics I've ever seen. I take it you can't keep a cuc, have you tried introducing them after everyone's went to sleep. I managed to sneak in a tuxedo urchin into my killer trigger tank, couldn't even get a snail past them even after bedtime. Other forms of nutrient control could include an algae reactor which is easy, inexpensive, and highly effective. There's also the algae scrubber or even carbon dosing, I use nopox on my biggest heavy eating tank and my killer trigger/eel tank.

Oh, I'm also jealous; I looked for over a year for a black dfp before I decided on a yellow belly. Over 2 years since, still haven't seen one.

Thanks! I think I'll try Nopox to see if that helps. I don't think a cuc would survive, I have to block my clown trigger whenever feeding the eel because he attacks the tongs and shreds everything. The niger seems to be very aware of everything at the bottom so I think he'd be a problem too.

My blueline trigger is relentless when I'm feeding my eel. I've actually picked him up out of the water while he was holding onto a shrimp. I tried to shake him loose, and he actually won; I gave in and dropped the shrimp with the blueline still holding on for the triggers to devour.

That's really, really neat. Thanks for sharing!

In FOWLR I love chaeto. It's kind of old school and cheap but it works great as it loves the dirty water that dirty predators produce. Put a strong LED light over it and let nature take its course!

Awesome pic!!! That puffer tho[emoji33][emoji7]!

Thanks, he is very cool. He's been enjoying the week my emporator has been in the hospital tank since the angel picks on him.

Pic posted is the angel 6 days ago in a FW dip. Looks totally normal now but still isolated. Eating like a pig after 6 days in Maracyn plus.
