Stuck duncan

This duncan is about six months old and has grown nine new heads, but then the original head sorta shrank and hasn’t extended in weeks. I’ve tried different places and l feed it but no change. Any clues? Save my stuck duncan y’all!

Do you see any tissue recession? It not, it might just be irritated and could be fine.

Yeah buddy l tried that. They need fairly steady current so l’ve repositioned it three times to make it blissful…yet it pouts.

No recession. No algae. PO4 still high at 0.15 but it was high when it was fully extending and making babies. Dang.

Have you dosed anything lately? I dosed Vibrant once and my duncans didn’t like it.

I had similar happen with my Duncan. It grew some smaller heads around the outside and then the main head died. The little heads are still going and it's bouncing back!

Nope. A little carbon daily. But l’ve been using a crap product called continuum correx to reduce PO4 which has been useless. Dunno why it would affect just one duncan? Is it using all it’s energy on those babies?

You could use gfo, but be careful with it, because it can strip the water of po4 quickly. I’ve always used less than recommended and usually take it out of the tank once the po4 is under control but not zero.

You could use gfo, but be careful with it, because it can strip the water of po4 quickly. I’ve always used less than recommended and usually take it out of the tank once the po4 is under control but not zero.

I used phosban and gfo. Thing is, l started with crap ”life rock” and it seems to leach PO4 faster than l can manage.
