Has anyone had a fish get stuck in the backside of a power head? Wife was in the kitchen “what’s the Foxface doing?” I look up and he’s on the back of the Nero 5 and he was turning colors. So I hurried up and turned off the WM.

I did put the fish guard on it now. But just curious if anyone has had this issue before.
It was on constant i now put it on random.

Nope. Been using them for over 2 years now. If the fish got caught on the back then I'd be worried about its health. I see my fish get blown around when I crank the speed up but never stuck/sucked in to the back.

Go read all the nero 5 reviews. It's a death trap for fish. I run 2 in my tank but wouldn't run them for one minute without the fish guards. Sorry about your foxface. The only one I ever had became lunch for my carpet anemone

At some point in 2020 Nero started getting enough complaints that they started including the fish guards with all Nero’s being sent out. It was enough of a problem for their customer base where they actually would send out free fish guards to existing customers as well.

This is a common issue with these power heads. Happened to ours as well, early on we figured we wouldn’t need the guards but quickly learned they must stay on.

Its an early issue and ive seen it from others. Your unit should have come with a guard and if not, I see a link provided in yes - they will provide one from Ecotech

As soon as it happened i took it out and put the guard on it. When you watch the vide about it they are like “the fish guard is si smaller fish don’t get caught into it”. My foxface is not small:p
