Hello R2R!

I bought about 14lbs of live rock, they looked great when I purchased them. The tank has been cycling a week now (13~lbs live sand, around 8~gallons live water).

I see an Aiptasia, and also what looks like two deformed mushrooms (if you're familiar with mycology think 'aborts'), and some cellulose from what I think were corals.. All the purple on my rock is going green or gray. I don't have any algae (no lights are on), water is clear and circulating. I've added about 3/4 of a gallon of RO water to top it off this week total.

I'm going to test my water before and after I do a 3 gallon water change this weekend (tomorrow).. My local LFS are probably going to be desolate with help or maybe even closed since MACNA is officially underway.

Am I one of those suckers who paid for live rock only to get rock with pests in it?? I got this at one of my local LFS here in Miami because they gave me a good price. I now feel (gut) that I should have gone with another LFS that I visited in the same area a week prior. In fact I think he is a member here by his avatar, anyway..

Too soon to panic??

Live Rock does this. But if you purchased cured rock, your tank will probably already be cycled in a weeks time frame. The Coralline usually does die off on most, but will come back with the correct water params in place. If you got cured rock, you should be running your lights and everything, as your tank will be good to go in no time.

No ill affects, just a waiting game now. No worries.
