Stupid as stupid can be!

I feel like such an butt. I made a stupid rookie mistake. Deep Blue cabinet that came with my 60g tank is too small...the opening in the front that is, which is a pitiful 13" wide as is the back..Top is glued tight to the underside. Not about to take a razor blade to it. Too easy to damage. Deep Blue will not take back this 'series v' cabinet, even if I simply exchange for other items. Not very nice of them. I do not want to replace my trigger crystal 18" wide sump. It's sweet.

So there it is. Stands that are suitable to the 60g cube with a nice wide opening (20" or wider is great) are - believe it or not - rarer by the day. The most awesomenesssss thing in the universe would be if I could swap this one with another cabinet with someone. Other than that, I fear I will have to spend money whether it's finding a new suitable cabinet which are min $400, custom making one or modifying the one that I have that Deep Blue refuses to take back. That is, unless you guys out there have another idea? It would be mucho appreciated! Thanks for listening to my long, drawn out saga!

Best way to go is knock the bottom out place stand over sump and your done. If they wont take it back that's really your only option and it would work.

Great guy over at Manhattan Aquariums actually took out his circular and jigsaw and widened the open on back to 19"! Perfect! Stand still strong as bull! Journey continues. Next up: tie in to kitchen water line and create auto top off RO system line to my tank in living room. The build of the system is rewarding in itself!
