Stupid mistakes... anyone else?

Gave house a ro bath when making water for 24 hours while at Disney. To top it off I returned that night with corals I rescued from a friend's tank to an inch of water surrounding the tank. Several hour of shop vacuuming later I was able to setup quarantine. Rough long night. Lol

Been there, way to easy to forget about the RO being left on. Flooded a bedroom and had to pay a company to dry the carpets and padding.

I added a shutoff to my RO. Not fail safe, but at least it shuts off if I forget to watch it.

I came home from a 9 month deployment to an absolutely gorgeous tank. The tank was only about a year old when I left and it was just starting to fill in. My wife took care of it while I was gone and I had sps colonies that went from pinky size to bigger than my fist when I get back. We'll I decided it would be great to change a bunch of things at once. I got new lights and set them at a max of 75% right from the get go. I grabbed a new reactor and started running biopellets and I didn't listen to my wife when she said I was feeding too much. Within 3 months of me being back I had pretty much killed everything. It was a hard but valuable lesson to learn and thankfully I learned it sooner than later.

I bought a fish tank ... not stupid but definitely an expensive mistake haha

Manual dosing minerals in order to higher the kH.... Mixing up conversion Gallons and liters. Ended up with kH > 20. Killed some of the SPS.

Gotta agree with RO flooding. Was running RO for house sitters before going on vacation. Left the RO on, let's just say the house sitters had a nasty surprise waiting for them.
