Stupid noob testing question..

Hey guys, so this is something that ive fought with since i started reefing, it has become much more apperent that it matters with the red sea test kits..

When it says add 1ml to the dropper... does that mean when the liquid in the dropper hits the 1ml mark or when the bottom of the plunger hits the 1ml mark?

Couple of photos for reference.

Dropper at 1ml, liquid at about .9ml



Dropper all the way to the top, liquid almost to 1ml

The reason i ask is because when it says "how much regent used" I get a different answer depending on where i measure from, if i measure from where the dropper itself is vs where the liquid starts thats about a .2ml difference, and depending on what im testing thats a huge amount to be off by.

I go by the plunger. When you use the plastic tips, they adds volume to the tube, so if you fill the fluid up to the line, then you will end up with over 1ml of fluid. If you are concerned, then get something else to measure 1ml of fluid (not testing fluid, just use water) to be sure the 8ml line is indeed 1ml of fluid.

Ive thought of that but i have nothing that i can test with that i think is accurate enough, i have droppers for my Hanna Checkers that are 1ml and they are the same way, either the plunger is at 1ml or the liquid is.

Ironing a blue short sleeve oxford shirt

Your welcome. I like the RS test kits, but at first they are a little bit unclear if first off read the directions. The videos are great to clear up things.
