Established 40 breeder. No sump.

Bought a BIOTA mandarin yesterday. Little guy was like half an inch. Ate new life spectrum pellet at the store. So I bought the fish and a jar of new life spectrum.

Saw him last night can't find him today. I know this is just a waiting game at this point, but wishing I put the fish in a breeder box.

I'd give him some time. I wouldn't rearrange any rock or monkey around in the tank, but let him settle into the tank- it might take a few days/weeks.

One tip in the future if your aquascape will allow would be to make "caves" and other nestled structures that can be plainly viewed from the front/side of the aquarium. This way the fish feels secure, but you can continue to monitor them.

Count yourself lucky you bought a mandarin already eating pellets!

Agree with both above posts. Once the fish realizes that your the hand that feeds them you’ll have a friendlier response. Reefing is always a waiting game. Going with the flow is the name of the game! Once he/she is out post a photo!

agree all about ,esp pic when he comes out ;)

Found him ! Just gonna leave him be. I squirted some reef nutrition (the orange bottle forget what it's called) in his little cave. Just gonna leave him be. The sketchy part is any one of my fish could eat this thing alone with any LPS
