So I picked up some water from my LFS about 2 weeks ago but haven't done my water change yet. Again, I am lazy so I really don't want to test it but can I still use it for water change or should I get some new? It wouldn't be a question but the store is like 20 mi away and tomorrow is going to be a busy day.

The tank looks good but am about to go out of town and need to change before I go.

RODI water-yes,good to go if it's been covered
Saltwater-I'd aerate for a couple hours or overnight....toss in a power head, then check temp before using

I would test TDS of the water that has sat. If it is still 0 ppm I would give it a go.

I would say that If your too lazy to test your water, your in the wrong hobby.

A bit harsh...but I kind of agree. That being said, I would definitely throw a pump in and aerate it for a while. I mix saltwater when I have time and use it as necessary. Sometimes a part of the water is in the container for 3-4 weeks before use. I've never seen adverse effects of this, but I do keep a Sicce 3 pump mixing it at all times.

didn't mean to be harsh, but I hate to see people fail because they don't do whats required. I only test my water about once a month. it's like some people are always seeking ways to get away with wc's. it's just part of the deal. you will probably be fine if you spend one hour per week on your tank, fresh or salt. that's not a lot to put into any hobby.
