Stylo not opening up Need Help!!

I have a Purple Stylo that is not opening up. I have tryed doing water changes, turning up the light, and moveing the stylo to a different location. I also got some carbon to see if it was a chemical thing. If you have an idea of what it is please send it over.

We need a lot more details to be able to help, and pictures of the tank and coral would be helpful too.

Is this a new coral or one you’ve had for a while?

Do you have other SPS? How are they doing?

What are your water parameters? Particularly salinity, ammonia, alkalinity, calcium, and temperature.

How big is the tank and what type of lights do you have?

It’s worth noting that things like moving the coral around, doing water changes, and changing the lighting will irritate the coral a bit and can cause it not to open for a while, so if you are continuing to do these things you may be delaying it’s opening. It might just need some time before it opens. How long have you given it between all of the things that you tried?

Hey sorry for getting back to you so late I was waiting for my new test kit to arrive. So answering your questions it is not a new coral I have had it for a while it seemed to be doing good. All my other spa are good and one is making a come back from getting stung by my torch.

my water parameters are good they are
11.2 alk
480 calcium
1520 mag
Ph 8.1
>.25 ammonia
5 ppm nitrate
0 nitrite

The tank is 13.5 gallons with an ai prime 16 hd

I moved it a day after changing the light it was a little open today on one side but not fully.

Alk calcium and mag are all pretty high. Are you dosing for those?

Nope that is just what they were

I’d double check your fresh mixed salt water and double check the tank levels. I’m thinking that would be a good place to start. Also make sure nothing is picking on it.
