My ATO malfunctioned and overflowed my 120 gal tank with fresh water. It lowered salinity to 1.021. Torch took hit but came back after adjusting salinity and water change. Stylo retracted it’s polyps and now has turned white. After 10 days all parameters corrected but stylo still white. polyps starting to extend again. Will the stylo ever return to its purple color?

You took 10 days to fix your salinity?

I just had this happen this past Monday night. My ato put 10 gal of fresh water into my tank over night. When I got up to exercise I caught it. It lowered my salinity to 1.023. I sucked out 15 gallons of water as fast as possible. Then I added 5 gal of a higher salinity of salt back in. Got me to 1.024. I then took the freshwater in the ato bin out and added fresh salt. Went to work.

Then when I got home I went to work again. Did the same thing again but did a really high salinity in 2 gal or water and kept adding and taking out until I got 1.025. Took me almost 8 hours from start to finish to fix it back to 1.025-6.

Had zero losses or zero issues so far. And i have a stylo.

Tank parameters
Salinity 1.025
Cal 440
Mag 1140
Alk. 8.5
Nitrate. 4.5
Phos. 0.09
Temp. 78

Sorry I wasn’t clear. It didn’t take me 10 days to correct the salinity. I did that over the course of 2 days. I didn’t want to shock my tank with salt levels again. I slowly brought the level back to normal. Now that everything is back on tract I was wondering if my stylo will return to its regular color purple? What I meant by 10 days were the other levels that were affected by the lowering of salt water. Alk, Mag.

If it still has PE then there is hope..if it gets covered in algae it's game over
