Can someone tell me if this is bleaching or showing growth. It has taken 9 days for it to get to this point and has not shown any signs of spreading. Been in the tank for a couple months now. The tips are more of a pink than white. It was placed up higher before but I lowered after I noticed what was happening. Parameters are in check, no recent changes or additions to the tank.

I say new growth, I a guessing you do not have any photos of the stylophora before this one to compare?

Unfortunately, I do not have a picture that would be clear enough to tell. Before there was great polyp extension and uniform green color with a pink base all the way around the coral and the tips. Very bushy and full. As of now, the tips are still showing good PE but do not seem as full as before.

It could be that something was off and the was some degeneration and now thinks are right again and it is growing and healthy again.

It does look like new growth. Just a thought but you may want to move it back to the location where it was getting better light so that you don't slow down or stop the growth process. ;)

Okay, thanks to the both of you for the help and info. I'll move it to its previous location and continue to keep an eye on it.
Thanks for the help!

The growth tips of Stylo are white and just at the very top so in your case all looks good. Should the white tips travel down the coral then that could be a sign of bleaching but I see no evidence of that in your pic's.

Looks healthy to me too. My Stylos do well near the lights. I love this coral!

Some of my Stylos have white as new growth.

I think the pink is like sun burn. Mine loves the light; highest piece in my tank.
