Sorry about the loss, is there any area on the coral that you can frag? Also do you have any other sps in the tank??

Hmm I seem to find that stylophora are easier to keep than birdnest in my option. Was the frag recently added to tank? Any major swings in parameters?

All three added at the same time and moved to higher rocks for more light at the same time. No swings as my parameters have been pretty stable.

I'm zooming in close and seeing recessed polyps.

If it had died it would be white.

Try moving it back down. Purple stylos are tougher than birdsnests in my experience and thrive under stronger light.

I moved it down on a shelf with less light

Not dead but not happy. assure youve met the following:

Moderate light and water flow
alk 8-9
ph 8.1-8.3
salinity 1.025
mag 1300
CA 440
nitrate < .03
ammonia < .03
temp 78-79

Don’t have mag test yet

all are within range but we know my phosphates may be high as I have algae in dt but it reads .04 on the Hanna.

That looks much more like a pocillopora than a Stylophora. I wouldn’t rule it out yet, it’s not totally dead, just ticked off. There’s still hope.

I’m good with it either way. I’ll try to get it back to happy

Update

it’s been on the sand for weeks.
Polyps seem to come out at night.
The par on this part of the sand measured 160
