I have this stylophora in high light, high flow. From what I read, they need high flow. Is there such thing as too high? The power head is behind it in the corner of the tank. Color is nice looking at it although one side isn't as purple

This one side/angle has some heads not out. Reasons?

I did just move it to the display tank from the qt about a week ago. Only thing shading it now would be itself. It's at the top. In the other tank, that side faced at a more downward angle so maybe it just needs time to adjust to new lighting

I think this coral will pretty much grow anywhere... I frags of this thing everywhere lol and they all look the same color wise so I really wouldn't worry too much about placement with this one... if it gets light it will be purple. up your nutrients and the skin will turn a dark greenish/brown and make the purple contrast better.

Looks pretty well and growing.
The no polyps part it’s because of the shade and it doesn’t look dead.
Are you using Led light?

@Alfrareef Yes. The coral qt is a RS Max E170 with hydra 26's and it was lower in tank as it seemed to do good where I'd put it. Lights in that tank are higher intensity. Display has currents ic pro's--dual and it is at the highest point--prob. 5-6 inches from water line, lights 7 inches above. Whites approx: 30/blues 70/green & red 20 or 30 %. Lights can be lowered to either 3 or 5 inches above waterline

That’s why I return to T5. I wasn’t able to deal with led tunning and shadows.
Don’t worry those parts shall stay white but it’s ok.

If anything raise your LED lights to 10-12 inches above the water. Some Stylos take some time to start looking right. Here is some history on one of mine. First image in November 2018 followed by January 2019. Prior to November 2018 I had this coral for over a year starting from a two branch twig. I lost those photos but it didn't look anything like this as a twig. I blast this colony as it sits as high as possible in my tank in the center where the flow from the fans meet. The fans say 5,000 GPH each at full power and I run them at full power using a random setting.
