Stylophora problem need advice

Had this guy a four months about. Started dosing about 6 weeks ago. My Mg was low. Growth took off after that. Last week or so it has this waxy spot that's growing a little bigger.

This is about best picture I can get.

My RO/DI had a little high TDS I found out over weekend 15. Just changed filters yesterday. Plan on doing 2 or 3 20% water changes over the next week or so to get water back where it should be. Everything else is really stable where it should be.

Could this be the cause? Or is it something else I need to be looking at ?

It’s bleaching. May be from too high light or some other factor, but other than that it looks healthy so hope that it stops soon and the rest survives. I don’t think it’s from light just because that’s a lower part of it but it’s still possible.

hmm thats interesting. I updated my Maxspect ethereal light app a month or so ago. But I left settings the same. I did have to replace one of the lights itself because of it being incompatible with the new app.

I will recheck all my parameters. Thanks for the response. None of my other corals are showing signs of damage.

Can you move it a bit... almost looks like it found a hot spot from a rogue LED.

I have definitely had one bleach and loose tissue after switching lights. I moved out down and it recovered. I also had a couple of pyramid butterflyfish which although I thought that they were reef safe, began to eat gorgonian, stylo and zooanthid polys like candy!

Oh that is good to know. I had one that I really liked but it only nibbled on xenia, which was absolutely fine with me. He died from (something?), and I was thinking about getting another, but maybe not now.

Stylo's are sensitive to nutrient changes. How often are you testing your big 3? My Milka Stylo is like my tank canary, when it's not doing well my levels are off. Food for thought

big 3 at least weekly, usually twice since I started dosing. Only started dosing about 6 weeks ago. Usually only adding MG. Everything else is in range. Once I got everything where I wanted it that first week. I hardly have to add any. Tested tonight.
mg 1240 (keep this around 1285. Doing some water changes tomorrow so havent raised it)

But as I said in first post. My RO was needing filters changed. Not sure how long. I randomly checked my output tds last weekend and it was 15-18. So I replaced all filters this week. Im sure my not checking sooner didnt help things any.
