I know in the long run I have to cut back or move one of these corals, that will happen next week. My concern is that one or the other will send out mesenterial filaments at night. Which sps is more aggressive?

TIA :-)

It depends on a few factors. For example a very fast growing acro would have an advantage over a slow grower. From the picture I’m thinking the style will win but it’s not easy to tell just yet. I’d just move them now as you will probably lose a good amount of the losing piece if it’s just a small frag. If it’s a colony, no big deal.

I think that you are going to have to wait and see... I have been surprised at this in the past.

For me, the acro would win since I like them more. :)

Stylo for sure!
It’ll also reproduce and pop new sprouts all over your tank...

Really, I thought that was trait of Pocillopora, but Stylophora? Hope not.

Instead of worrying about it I moved the acropora, the stylophora is already encrusted. Man they grow fast when happy.

You’re right, I was thinking of poci damicornis when I typed that
Whewww.

Scared me, having had Pocillopora go rouge in an sps tank once I certainly do not want to deal with that again.

I’m currently dealing with it unfortunately...
:(
I’ve gotten most of the spots, have this little straggler that I need to deal with tonight.
