Ok so I have a question maybe someone can help me with. I have what is supposed to be I believe is purple stylophora…it’s is growing ( doubled in size)and polyps extended but instead of purple polyps like when I got it the color of the polyps has turned white. I’ve had at the top of the tank to the bottom of the tank with no change in color back to purple. Kinda looks like to tips are a neon green idk.

Test kits I use are salifert.
Temp - 79
Salinity - 1.025 ( I use a refractometer)
Calcium - 430
Mag - 1380
Phos - .03

Lighting is an ai sol 12 inches above the water on a im lagoon 25. I’ll attached my light schedule with the %.

Flow I have the return pump along with 2 jabeo sw4’s. I have it set for a medium flow throughout the tank.

Nitrate? That is also pretty low lighting for that coral.

Looks to ne stylo but lighting very blue. These guys susceptible to shading as they grow but overall hardy

So should I up the white lights during the white phase?
I’d get the blues to a higher percentage. Honestly whites are more for your viewing pleasure if you like a regular daylight look. I run my whites with my ReefBreeders Photon at 3-4% during peak hour.

Stylos are pretty easy as sps go. They’ll do fine at nitrate levels that lps like just fine. Last I checked a while ago my nitrates were about 15-18. Happy Stylos here

Should I go with 100% on the royal blues and the other blues across the board?

Do you have any suggestions I’m at a loss I don’t normally keep sps.

I'd consider adding a second light. or lowering that one down a bit further. How high above the water is it? It looks pretty high up which may be leading to lower par levels. You can also rent a par meter to see what the par levels are.

It’s exactly 12 inches from the top of the water….i could try and lower it a little bit. I don’t have a lfs where I live it’s an hour and a half drive so I can’t get a par meter.

The AI prime 16hd is recommended to be at 8 inches, so maybe try that. Do it gradually though.
