I have a few styrofoam cooler. I was wondering if I could store saltwater in it for a couple of days without it leaching into the water. Anyone know?

Yes- Lace with large 3, 4 or 5 mil fish bags. Most pets stores have these from shipments and should be happy to give you some

I kept a bunch of ice water in a styrofoam cooler one night. I woke up to water dripping into my basement light fixtures! Those coolers aren't usually "water" tight and water will leak out of them after awhile.

I'm just trying to store it for 3 days or so that way I can get my tank moved. I am trying to get about a 50% water change the tanks looking rough because I have not been with it. Then they will be trashed

Need to line with plastic as suggested. Styrofoam is not waterproof. Nor is it particularly strong, not sure I'd trust filling them with water for a long period of time.

Unscented garbage bags, the heavy duty lawn & leaf type.
Wrap a few rounds of duct tape or overlapping packing tape around the upper exterior for structural support.
Works great (as long as you don't DROP the coral structure into the styrofoam cooler). Did I say that out loud!!!???

I use the big storage totes you can get from Walmart, target and probably other stores. I keep the styrofoam boxes for acclimating new critters, just use a new bag to line it with during the acclimating.
