I saw widow maker when Vic bought it, thing blew my mind and it's really improved since I saw it last fall sweet piece for sure

Most Reefers do still run half blue and half white (with T5's anyways).

Ratio of 1:1 Blue Plus and AquaBlue Special

Dude nobody runs white anymore. Lol. I run 5 blue plus and a purple plus and an ALL BLUE reefbrite

I do :), well at least somewhat....MH/T5/ReefBrights, the tank looks like a normal daylight type of tank. No super blue until just the ReefBrights are on late in the evening.

Super nice chalices. The widow maker is very nice. Loving the rainbow action!

We run one white T5 bulb on some of our T5 tanks. We also run Radions and Radiums on some tanks.

These pictures were taken under all blue almost a year ago. The thread was meant to show off the chalices. I always shoot with some white for our WYSIWYG pictures.

Maybe the High End Chalice collector doesn't but the average reefer still does.

Please keep in mind that most reefers shop at the LFS and have never even heard of sites like this.

My LFS has a 50/50 combo of Blue Plus and Aquablue Special on all their tanks (which is most of them) (A couple are LED).

I asked them and they said that 99 Percent of their customers use half blue plus and half aquablue special.

So just because you do not use white lighting does not mean that everyone else does too.

Most people in saltwater do not know what Chalices even are.

In fact I have talked to people at my LFS that like Xenia and Green Star Polyps because they move around.

They have no interest in Chalices, Acros, Acans, or any high end collector Corals.

That being said I do love Chalices and do use Blue Lighting to make them Glow.

I was just curious as to what they looked like under 50/50 lighting in case anybody were to ask me what they would look like in their tanks at home if I were to show them these amazing pictures.

So please do not get mad at me for asking.

So is it safe to say that these are the Most Expensive Chalices (actually all Corals) in the World at 5,000 and 3,500 each or are there Corals that Sell for even more than these?

Rainbow Chalice colonies are some of the most expensive corals. They are very rare, and are generally slow growers compared to other coral species.

5K on that crush is in line, the one in my avatar I wouldn't let it go for less than $2800

What else comes Close?

I don't see any Acros, Acans, Zoanthids, or any other Coral for that Matter anywhere Near that Much.

I think that they should be more Honestly because of how Rare and Beautiful your Chalices are.

I mean if I had a lot of money I would pay waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than 5,000 for those.

As far as I can tell those are the Holy Grails of Corals.

I mean I have seen Coins and Baseball Cards sell for over a Million Dollars so why are the Best Corals so Cheap?

Plus, you can Frag them and make your Money back too.

You can't Frag a Coin.

So I see these Corals as a much better investment.

How much do you think these Gems be worth a Few Years Ago before the Economy Tanked and Chalices were Selling for much more Money than they do Today?

Your first question is difficult to answer, it's not like we can keep track of every coral that has been sold in history.

A colony of a collector Acro or Zoanthids could go for that much. You just don't ever see colonies of collector stuff up for sale.

Coral prices are based on supply and demand like anything else.
