Submerisible pumps!!!! How far can they move water?

I have a 50Foot run from my water storage area to my display tank. Then 5 feet up to the tank.
Can anyone recommend an inexpensive submersible pump to move approx 30 gallons of water
to make water changes easier.

It all depends on the make, model, rating of pump. My big pump can push up hill 120ft. My little pump can only push 14ft. They'll have different ratings for different tubing too.

It seems like you want to move new water to your DT after a water change. If this is the case, you really don't have to concern yourself with GPH. Just something that can move the quantity of water you want to move in a reasonable amount of time (only you can decide what is reasonable).

The pump you mention (1500GPH) should work. The only real challenge the pump faces is the 5FT head height.

Look at the documentation that comes with the pump. There should be a chart which tells you how many GPH you can expect based on your head height.

The chart will look something like this...

You can see the model 5 is rated at 525GPH at 1 Ft, but at 5 Ft, its only 300GPH. That certainly would still be enough to refill your tank.
