As a temporary mixing station, I'll be using 32g Brute trash cans to mix my saltwater and store RO/DI. What would be a good GPH submersible pump for mixing saltwater?

Would it be a good idea when storing RO/DI water to have a pump constantly running in there as well?

You can use any pump. But I like those that can be attached to the side with a magnet. Makes it easier to point down. Also if you want to keep something in there long term. Just put the pump on a timer and have it just run 30min a day or so. That way the water doesn’t just sit there.

Any recommendation?

I use a small Lifeguard submersible pump (Quiet One Pro 1200) which does two things. First, I use it to mix saltwater in a 32G Brute. I don't even attach anything to the "outflow" of the pump. It just creates enough circulation on its own. Second, when I need to do a water change I attach a hose to it so I can pump directly out of the Brute.

Couple of things I've learned. First, if I had to do it again, I might get a bigger pump which could then act as a backup to my return pump in my DT. I'd also consider switching to a Sicce Ultra Zero pump since it can drain down to the last 2mm of standing water. I don't like to have standing RODI or saltwater in my containers for too long.

Great recommendation. Using a pump that can be used for mixing and pumping to tank. I believe Rio also has a pump that can pump super low because it has an elbow attachment.
