Hi. I can't find calcium chloride according to the Diy two-part recipe, do you think the calcium chloride according to MSDS will be safe to use as a substitute? And will I mix according to the recipe 500g per gallon or 20% less?

Calcium chloride is calcium chloride. The important consideration is purity. According to the MSDS, the composition is 72-95% CaCl. Not very pure. The label would be more helpful than the MSDS to make a determination. It should be labeled food grade or ACS grade. Where are you located?

In food it is often used as a preservative for canned goods and in cheese making if that helps narrow down your search…

Yeah that helps, theres a couple local sites for cheese and beer making that sells calcium chloride but doesnt give alot of details about % etc but think it should be good to use as its all food grade.
