I'm looking to get a larger macro tank going(29G). In this setup I'll have a DSB - my idea is at least 4 inches, with a layer of mud in between two layers of sand.

I'm curious if conchs or a sand sifting cucumber would be a good pick to keep the sand bed clean without harming any anchors/root structures. Ideally something that wont mow down the macros would be super - My goal is to grow 'edible' macros for my DT.

Also kicking around a brittle star in my livestock plan because I love those jokers.

Comments, suggestions, and snarky remarks greatly appreciated.

Awesome bud, Thanks for the reply! I'm fond of DSB - always had one in some capacity since starting this hobby years ago. I hear their not as popular anymore, but to each their own! I usually kept them maintained with a Goby, but they can be terrorists (Oh, them's some clean lookin' rocks/corals - they look like they could use a sand dusting! I'll grab mouthfuls of sand, swim up, and dump it all over everything. Also, this coral/snail/hermit doesn't belong here. Let me move him for you.).

I've got some conchs in my DT now that I absolutely love, and have been interested in a cucumber for some time now. I figured one of those two would be less prone to uproot plants and soforth. Additional research is required(thanks again for the sweet link)!
