I am looking at substrates for a 75g Reef aquarium I am planning. I would like to choose a sand which will be flexible for many creatures with respect to it's particle size. I see the Bimini Pink Arag-Alive sand linked below appears to have a good distribution of particle size (0.5 - 5.0mm). My ultimate question is would this work for fish sleeping in the sand bed (Wrasses), Gobies, and Jawfish who like to burrow? I am thinking a 2" sand bed.

I would say that is just fine to use. I have more natural sand and bigger particles and my sandsifters do not mind at all and same with my ornate wrasse. I am normally only concerned with sand size if you have something that swims along the bottom and can be prone to bacterial infections from scratching their stomachs.

What examples would you think of for bottom swimmers who are prone to bacterial infections?

Plus if you go with a smaller particle size, there is a greater chance of the water movement blowing it around depending on how/where your powerheads are set up.
