Hi all, currently I have Caribsea Fiji Pink sand and it sucks! It's nothing like what it was like years ago. It is much finer and so far I've found it impossible to vacuum.

So, how do all of you who vacuum your sand do it with a fine grain substrate?

Thanks!

What I have done before is hold the vacuum about a 1/4 inch above the substrate. It usually collects any detrius without sucking up much sand.

Thanks for your responses. I'm really leaning towards replacing it and going with crushed coral.
