Good morning, I'm setting up a 40 gallon breeder. Looking at using a black substrate. Anyone have any opinion, comments or suggestions. I am thinking of getting a diamond goby for the tank eventually. Thanks.

I hated the black. It really does stick to the glass scraper magnets. Like fingernails on a prized chalkboard.
my.02.

@saltyfilmfolks said it. Most black sands have an iron component that gets picked up by your magnetic glass cleaner. Then this stuff scratches your glass. Not fun! And forget it if you have an acrylic tank.

What they said! I tried black, then wanted a mixed looked so added white......it basically just turned into a black bottom layer and white top layer.
