Now that we cant find southdown playsand anywhere.... I think I will need around 250 pounds of sand and don't know where to get it. I am not going to buy it from online pet retailers as they are around 1.20 per pound or more, is there something else I can use or am going to have to buy the "live" stuff.:sure:

I would do regular reef sand and a small amount of live sand to seed the other. You already have live sand to seed with. That will save you a few $.Thats my oppion and I know some people will disagree but it has worked for me when upgrading.Be sure to wash most of your exsisting sand before using it.

I got a sample of Marco's sand with my rock order, all I can say was that it is super fine and kinda got blown around in my tank. I'd ask for a sample before purchasing.

Foster and Smith is where I usually get mine these days. Generally 30# for about $25 and you max out at $17.99 in shipping costs (unless they've changed since I last ordered).
