I would like opinions on whether I should use Caribsea reef sand or the Caribsea special grade for my reef tank. I would like to have a sand shifting star, nassarius snails and perhaps a fighting conch. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I did special grade but actually prefer the look of finer sand with larger pieces of crushed coral in the mix.
Special grade just looks like kitty litter to me and it surprisingly doesnt resist duning with my mp10 at 50%.

If i was gonna do it all over, i would choose bimini pink from caribsea.

I would avoid anything 'fine' as most of it will be wasted through your filters and will constantly stir up a 'cloud' with each water change, I used caribea mixed as a base, had various sized broken pieces of rocks/ shells etc
