Has anyone had success with any lps head that has bailed out of its skeleton?
I just had an Octospawn lose 2 heads. I put both heads in a cup and they open like normal. Wonder how long they'll last like this.

They can recover. You have to keep them from floating in the tank until they can reattach to a substrate, rock or frag plug.

More importantly you need to find why they bailed out.

Temp swing?

Salinity swing or salinity shock from introducing to a DT from a salinity that was different when bought.

High or low nutrients.

Pest or invert bothering it. Peppermint shrimp are notorious in damaging LPS.

Here's a video that explains what could cause it:

I saw that vid. That's what gave me a little hope and put them in a cup.
I have no clue why they bailed. Everything that i test for has remained the same. But i only test for major elements and nutrients.
I think they might have bailed cuz the middle head wasn't being a good neighbor. Cuz it's still there and looking good LOL!
