My 20 gal I absolutely love this thing

What's up guys
I have a IM 25 lagoon tank as my office tank. Sits right on my desk and I love it
I got it because me 125 gallon broke and took a year off from the hobby
Brs had a amazing deal so I took it!!
I will say the only thing I regret is buying the IM brand stuff such as media reactors. For me they are veryyyyy unreliable.
I did leave the stock pump
Running a hang on back skimmer and the 2 IM reactors for carbon and go

I always here people talking how hard and difficult it is to maintain a small tank, for me it's a once a week 5 gallon water change.... literally takes me 15 min including scraping glass and cleaning skimmer
Loving my 1.5 yr old lagoon. I'm a big fan of softies so I would consider it a soft tank

So I'm having trouble finding long term, successful, tank builds for Innovative Marine tanks. Can you run a successful, thriving reef tank with IM using their skimmer, reactor, and media rack? I'd prefer not to do 50% water changes every week if I buy one. Thoughts? Comments? Am I crazy or just missing something?
Some of my livestock started in a fusion 10g for about 9 months, and has been in the 20g for over a year. Successful? I've grown coral, lost coral, had fish, lost fish, and am in the middle of a back and forth with SPS bleaching.

The tank is being replaced shortly with a custom shallow 60g and sump. The lack of water volume has grown tiring to keep on top of, given even a small swing can upset things quickly. I do think it was a great tank to learn off of as a beginner; it forced good husbandry habits as if the right things weren't done the tank would quickly suffer.

As for the accessories, I think they're all over-priced but mostly good. The skimmer would be the most average of the bunch, and their upgraded media racks are barely above novice DIY quality. The mini reactors have been great, and I'm probably going to continue using one in my frag tank since it handles small carbon quantities very well.

Would I ever start another AIO nano tank at this point? Probably not, at least for salt water, but I would start the same way if I was fresh to the hobby again, though I probably would have just started with the 20.

Here is mine after about a year...enjoyed it a ton but it is a size (20 gallons) that you have to be very good about husbandry or it could go bad fast—
Nice tank!
I just bought an IM 14 gallon Penninsula with hopes of relocating a Maroon clown, carpet anemone, and some Zoas.
Still trying to decide between the AI Prime HD+ or the Kessil A80 with the Spectral controller.

Anybody have a certain water level they keep there’s at like in the sump and everything

I have a Nuvo 20. I keep the water in the pump chamber even with the baffles on either side. I don't have an ato in it, so I just add ro until it's at the top of the baffles. In the left over flow chamber I have chaeto lit from the side a clamp on LED light, I removed the black film on the side of that chamber.

oh man mine is too full

I have had a IM 40g for almost 2 years now and its thriving as a mixed coral tank, with no issues. I run a filter sock in one side, and the rack in other side with chaeto in it and a bag of chemo-pure. I also use the skimmer. My corals grow like crazy and I love the tank!

Nice scape

I’ve had this IM30L AIO for over 2 years now.. Great tank! I love the black vinyl backing as well as the space- efficiency.

I run 2 Voyager nano power heads (along with the included return pump), a 54w LED strip light from aquatic life, and a nano skimmer in the back left compartment.. I also transformed a portion of the “sump” into a small refugium

Wow nice tank. This is a great example of why I started this thread. Do you use the filter socks or a media basket at all?

Kessil. Always Kessil!

I have a IM 40. I have had it for over 6 months and it had been running for about 2 years prior. It is doing great, my only struggles are with Phosphates which I think I have finally cornered and with temp. During the cold months, it is hard to keep the main display warm enough. Running 2 heaters now that I need to constantly adjust. Really close to getting a controller to let it do the dirty work

Thank you :P
The skimmer i purchased sits in the back left compartment where a media basket usually would sit, so initially i only ran one of the two included media baskets. After a few months of having the tank i wanted to somehow incorporate a refugium to the system so i transformed both of the back right compartments into the fuge.. So now there are no media baskets (although i have a bag of chemipure and matrix in the section next to the skimmer to help compensate) I'll try to remember to upload some pictures of the back later.. After changing up the intended uses for the sump sections i rigged up some regular sponges on the baffles right before the return pump section so i would also have some mechanical filtration.

Mine is 11 months I've had one alk swing but tat was a rookie dosing mistake lol I have the ghost skimmer, 2 nano korallia pumps, and the current usa light!
