Wondering if there is a secret to getting my thermometer probe's suction cup to stick to the side of the tank. Cleaned it and the acrylic really well. Just not staying stuck! It is under the pump's output far enough where it probably isn't getting much flow. Just sucky at suctioning!

We have this same issue! Any tips?

ps -- I'm new to this forum... what's the "casino cash" stuff about on the left under people's names? :-P

It is for the casino of course! You get $$ for posting and other things that I don't really know for sure.

Just a fun side-game I guess.

order from F&S, or one of the other sites "mag-clips". perfect for your application. I love them. Wish they weren't so pricey, but beggars can't be choosers, right?

for when it doesn't matter how it looks, i've taken the thermometer and ziptied it to some pvc instead and make a hanger for it into a sump or where ever. not so good if you are doing in a DT.

To further agree with the last two posts - suction cups stink (particularly in SW), and there is really no way to ensure they'll stay stuck. Over time the rubber gets harder also making it even more difficult for older suction cups. I've completely elimintaed them by using other means of attachment...

Looks like I may try the zip-tie approach with the cube. I have the stand pipe for the pump that should work for it I guess.
