Quick update for everyone. After a freshwater dip I switched to Prazi for a 7 day course. Over time it was clear that the fish was getting better. We did one more freshwater dip and reintroduced the fish back into the DT. All fish looking good.

Just my two cents as I found this post when I was researching the sudden blindness in my rabbitfish. I agree I think it was a bacterial infection. I couldn't source any of the medications mentioned but found another post referencing Melafix. I moved my fish to QT and treated, after 4 days his sight has returned. It was such a relief! I hope this helps someone else as well.
