Sudden brown spot on tang

Hello,

A buddy sent me this pic of his tang and this brown spot appeared over night. Any thoughts on what it may be? @Humblefish @ReefSquad

The only other fish in aquarium are several clownfish. Tang is eating and acting overall normal.

This clearly looks like a bite mark from another occupant with shape of a bristle tang mouth. While it appears to be mild infected, can develop worse and I would quarantine and treat with seachem Kanaplex or Neoplex to assure it goes in the right direction.
What other tank occupants do you have? Only other possibility is a sting from a fish such as Rabbitfish

Looks like an injury of some sort (perhaps from coral or scraping against a rock). If it's acting normally I'd just feed well and keep the water quality high

8 small clowns ( under 2") lawnmower blenny and sunset dottyback. Only one large enough to make a bite may be lawnmower blenny

Could have originally been an injury, but some external bacterial infection grow in a circular fashion like that (Vibrio, Pseudomonas).

As long as the fish isn't showing any other symptoms, it could just be superficial.
