Hi all - I thought I’d consult the experts. Got home from work today and my YT has a weird “cloudy” patch on his pectoral fin. Doesn’t really look like the signature parasitic “spot” like you’d see with Ich or Velvet, but it definitely wasn’t there when I went to bed last night. Any thoughts? No changes to stock, etc.

How long have you had the fish? Who are its tankmates?

I see some mucus, doesn't look infected (yet). Definitely not Ich, Velvet of Uronema. Could *possibly* be an attachment point for a fluke, but I doubt it.

I’ve had this fish in this tank (Reefer 350) for nearly two years. His only tank mates are 2 black ice clowns, which have been with him since February.

Thanks Jay!

I would just watch it for now - any treatment carries some risk, and I just don't see any benefit to trying a treatment yet.

Very good, I’ll keep a close eye and reach out if it gets worse! Thanks so much!

My white tail bristletooth had the same thing on one pectoral, and spots on the other. I was worried about ich, but was told it could just be damaged fin rays. They’ve started to heal up pretty quickly. Just keep up the nutrition and I bet you’ll see it fade in a few days, too

Condition basically unchanged, but certainly no worse. Fish seems very active and relaxed. Eating a ton!
