Sugar dosing?

I’ve heard dosing 1/8th tsp of sugar per 25 gallons is a really good way of reducing nitrates in my reef tank, has anyone tried this and does it really work? What sugar do you use

What are your thoughts on this? I have done this several times on a few different tanks with amazing results in nitrate and phosphate reduction.

Be careful when doing any sort of carbon dosing. You can get some serious oxygen problems and more if you don't have a good skimmer running wet.
