I am thinking of tearing down my prop system and setting up a nice nano. Well up to 40-50g or less. I want something sleek a nice to sit near my 250g. LMK what ideas you have for me. :)

Get a 40 Breeder. If you are gonna put it near the main tank. Drill it and tie it in. I would love a 40 Breeder. Nice and long and shallow so you don't have to worry about using MH. A nice lagoon setup. Get either the 4 or 6 bulb Tek light.

How about a 45-50 gallon rimless cube tanks? Perfect for a theme oriented set up and great aqua scape:)..I want one:smile:

Like this idea better. I have to see if the a guy that is my local club posts on here too. But her has a cube with a center overflow. He build the rocks around the overflow and they stick out of the water. He put some Macro on the top of the rocks growing out of the top. It looks awesome.

My sysystem is a 50g cube 24x24x20 with a ATI Powermodule blasting on it let me know if you want to see pics to get an idea on how it would look next to your other tank.

Local just sold a Red Sea Max 250

Self contained, he added an mp10 and changed out the bulbs.

Was growing a little of everything.... nice zoas, acans, chalices and very nice sps

Thanks gang. I really want an all in one set up except for skimmer. I can't tie it in to the main.

Don't get the EcoSystem. I got it. Would never buy one again. Do not like the lay out of the back. I actually cut a lot of the baffles out to make more room. Plus they are expensive, way to expensive. I got mine used so I paid $300 for Tank, stand, and 150W MH Fixture. They have a refuge in the back for the miracle mud. No place for a skimmer at all. I actually talked to a rep from them and they told me with the miracle mud I will never need a skimmer. I have no miracle mud and now have a skimmer.

Actually let me rephrase what I said. I don't want an all in one like a Biocube per say. I just don't want to go get a tank here and a stand here, etc.. I want a rimless with a nice stand and sump.

One of the nicest tanks I've seen was a 40g breeder with an icecap powering 3 22k aquascience and a daylight (don't remember the make). The color was outstanding and those 4 overpowered bulbs could grow anything.

this may not be what your thinking, but i've been planning this nano tank for myself for a long time now, and it may give you an idea or two. i will likely never build it but its fun to think about:
- a custom made 24 x 24 x 16 with external overflow, and drilled for a closed loop - this would eliminate all in tank distractors
- light it with T5's or LED's hanging from the ceiling so it wouldn't get in the way
- plumb it to a simple sump with just a skimmer, heater and return pump
- i would build the stand so an avg height person could view it from above easily as a look down tank
- i wouldn't put any rock in there - just use ceramics like gooch makes for the corals that need to be anchored or have something to grow on, the rest would just rest on the bottom - lagoon style
- very large polyped corals like scollies, open brains, elegance, fungias and maybe a clam or two
- very clean looking - easy to maintain, fun tank, for corals and clams that look better from above then through the glass

Go with a Cadlights system. It is one of the best all-in-one systems out there and it looks really good too.

Here is a link to the 50 gallon system. They also have a 39 gallon option aswell. They come nicely packaged and with everything you need.
