Not sure what option there are out there but I’m looking for something I can hang/place in the tank for a couple of hours to filter out the water when I do a glass clean/rock cleaning?

Its just a 14g tank so would need to be small, a lot goes over the overflow but a lot also settles back on the rock/sand, I’m thinking if I add some kind of in tank filter for a couple of hours this will remove more debris and also clear the water faster, any suggestions as I have no idea what options I have.

You need more flow inside your tank to help keep everything suspended. A small powerhead will do the trick.

I have an mp10, It’s on at 30%, seems to keep it suspended for ages but it all doesn’t go over the overflow, eventually it just settles again.

Sounds like a power filter will be what your referring to in which it will polish tank water and at same time take in and trap loose matter as youre cleaning.

I turn up all of my flow, enough to where the sand just starts to move. Then I use a turkey baster and blast all of my rocks. My water becomes super cloudy. In about 1 or 2 hours most everything has gone down the overflow. After the water has cleared up I turn my flow back down to normal. The next day I do my water change.

I turn everything off so it will settle ,I feel you get a cleaner vaccum.but u can get a whisper or any brand of hang on filter, they are sized and marked, for you tank.you can also get a power head to blow off your rock.it really seems to help

+1 to powerfilter. I personally use aquaclears. 110 on my 55 display, and a 70 on my QT.

Use the default sponge for the bigger debris, and stuff a few fistfuls of filter floss to catch the fine debris.

Bonus is if you need to run carbon, Cuprisorb or any other sort of filter media, it's basically plug and play. :)
