Hi all,
Recently been dealing with a lot of tank issues, turned out my RODI was giving me 13 TDS water and sending my tank into decline. I was suffering from high nitrates, dinoflagellates and bacterial infections.

For the last month this Dendro has been showing mesenterial filaments from the corner of its mouth, almost like stringy herpes from a single spot on its lip. Extension was fine but not 100% so I ignored it.

Just today it started looking real bad (see pic). I did an iodine dip but it looks so unhappy. Now that I am at 0.0 TDS I am changing water 25% at a time. Any suggestions?

Last test:
pH: 8.2
Salinity: 1.026
NO3: 25
PO4: 0.12
KH: 8.5
Ca: 410
TDS: 13, now 0

@Dr. Dendrostein - may be able to help you out. He also has a good thread about Dendros if you want to check it out.

Hope this helps!

Well half of the big polyp is gone, but the babies are still eating! I'm thinking I'll just let it wait it out with good flow it hasn't responded to any dips.

Or would it be better to frag the babies out of there?

Btw, this is the only dendro out of 5 that's had problems with. It's also the largest and oldest polyp I've had so maybe it was just weaker? I'm glad it left me with 5 babies at least.

Is that one getting stung? Just curious.

It was definitely touching my tubastraea (orange and black) and another dendro, but in my experience dendros and sun coral don't sting each other.

This piece had a history of being handled too much and plenty of drops. I think that combined with not giving enough flow caused it to get the infection.

Here's a pic of what it used to be. She's definitely my favorite *cries*
