Hi everyone, New member here from the UK. I've (un)fortunately been drinking and browsing ebay at the same time. I bought a bargain setup, which was being used for tropical fish, but I couldn't say no to a bargain.

I bought a 6ft tank (about 750 litres / 200 US Gallons) and have transferred my tank from my much smaller tank to this one, I'm looking at setting this sump up, and would like some recommendations, I need a skimmer and would like to know what other items would be advisable to add to the sump setup.

I only have a small-ish setup with a few clownfish, anemones and some small corals and other fish I'd bought over the last year or so in my smaller (250 litre tank)

I would like to expand and would also like to be "Future proof" so I am able to go for more corals/fish etc.

My dream setup would actually be a lot of clown fish and anenomes is the tank, BUT it would cost a heck of a lot, but it would be an awesome setup.

This is the sump that I've bought, it came with the tank and was used as a tropical setup with a full filter system in the 3 compartment (ceramic media and sponges)

I know the PS1 skimmer is no good at all for this size tank but I was advised that my current sump was no use because it has to have a "Set level". The tank is a steady level (unless there is a power cut) but they said the tank would need to be replaced, which I find hard to believe.

Any advice would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

Having a skimmer in your return section is difficult because water level drastically effects skimmer operation. Maybe with a good ATO it’s possible but most people use a baffle to keep a stable water level for the skimmer.
