Right now I have (4) MP40s on my standard 180 gallon tank. I would think that would be enough to cover the entire tank. Ive been playing around with different flow patterns and flow percentages for about a month now and Im still not satisfied. Right now I have 2 MP40s on the back glass and 2 on the sides. The problem is the the sand near the back piece of glass is not getting any flow hardly and its getting alot of crap building up on the sand. Here is a sketch of my rock work and where the pumps are. The red area is the dead zone with hardly no flow. I am considering putting in a gyre on the right side and having it positioned vertically and having the flow go down the back piece of glass. Thoughts?

Adding a gyre will definitely help. Maybe 2 smaller sizes on each end mounted vertically versus one large one on the right side.
