suggestions on new additions for colorful reef safe fish

i have my reef set up and i bought a pair of clown fish and I'm at a point where i want to add some new colorful fish additions and i can't seem to choose so i am asking for help on choosing/suggestions on adding some fish to my tank and it'll be fun to watch what all of you will suggest i have a 30 long innovative marine tank its a shallow reef tank ill add a picture

Fire fish, biocolor blenny, yellow watchmans goby, flasher wrass, carpenters wrass, and zebra barred dartfish

Coming up with fish stocking plans is practically a hobby of mine, so I present you a few:

List 1 - focus on color and contrast
clown pair
royal gramma
Midas blenny
Lubbock's fairy wrasse
aurora goby

List 2 - focus on less commonly kept fish that won't break the bank
clown pair
blue gudgeon gobies (pair or small group)
green banded gobies (pair or small group)
royal flasher wrasse
high fin perchlet

List 3 - another less common fish list
clown pair
forktail blenny
chalk bass
possum wrasse
Helfrichi firefish
yasha goby

List 4 - focus on slightly more aggressive fish
clown pair
orchid dottyback
two spot hogfish
longnose hawkfish
yellow watchman goby

I could do a bunch more of these, but you must have some preferences of your own. Any of the flasher wrasses would be a great addition, and you could add a blenny, a basslet, gobies, and so on. Loads of options!

Glad to be of help! The fish in my icon is a fathead sunburst anthias. That would also be a good fit for your tank. Their behavior is slightly more like a hawkfish than that of a typical anthias, so they don't need quite as much swimming room and prefer to be 1 to a tank. Beautiful fish you won't regret!

I'm addicted to anthias! They look amazing and are middle of the tank swimmers. They add gorgeous color

Yeah I wonder about anthius in a 30g tank though. I really like fish list three.

Most anthias would be a poor fit, but a single sunburst or blotched anthias would do well, assuming suitable tankmates. They simply don't behave the way other anthias do and are not the shoaling swimmers you picture when you think of anthias.

You might be able to get away with a more typical anthias, such as a single bartlett's, but if seems riskier. They stay small, but appreciate more swimming room and can become aggressive, which would likely be amplified in a small space.

love their lights but i thought ecotech was better still i think i might buy one just for the shimmer

 

[Among The Reef]

Lately I've been finding the less common and unusual stuff really interesting and fun. If it were my tank is probably look into possum wrasses and basslets. Really like the idea of a Sunburst or Borbonius in there as well. Maybe a Golden Angel? Just saw some White Cap Goby and Pistol Shrimp pairs as well. They're so cool, but can be reclusive.
