Does anyone else have a fish thats like the dodo in Ice Age? Frequently you turn around only to find it on the edge of catastrophe?

My Blenny loves to sit in this powerhead when it’s feeding time. The first time I saw this my finger was a hair shy of hitting the “pumps on” button.

I haven't had a suicidal fish but I do have a suicidal anemone. We've named it "Kami" (IE: Kamikazee) It's been through 2 powerheads, melted to a heater, and has gone through the overflow on a couple of occasions. When it starts moving and we spot it we put it in our "penalty box" for a couple of weeks then let it back into "general population" but it always seems to find a way to get itself into something else. Never a dull moment.

My Blenny does something similar. Never seen it sit directly in the fan but it does get sucked to the guard all the time. I turn the pump off and it goes right back. Almost like he knew it was going to happen and enjoyed being stuck to the guard.

One time during feeding time, my wrasse decided to jump out and slap my face (literally lol). It’s still doing well today and stopped jumping out :)

I see mine do the same thing but he always frees himself when I get near the tank. He purposefully swims to the top and lays on the small aquamai powerhead and watches the tank like some sort of king.

Notorious are:
Dart fish
Firefish goby
Certain wrasses

Mine did too. It jumped out of the tiny finger hole overnight. We had him all of about 16 hours. A yellow wrasse did the same thing when we first set the tank up.

I sucks mine was a Pink Spotted, which utilized the entire water and rock scape. The new Diamond rarely goes 6 inches off the sand and that is only during feeding time.

Before I had a jump-guard I had a lineatus wrasse. I came home from work one day, and he was on the floor, about 10 feet away from the tank. One of my favorite fish. I was devastated! This was a very long time ago, and I have since learned my lesson. I've had a nem get chewed up in a powerhead, and another one somehow got into my overflow, but that lineatus wrasse is the only fish that has ever committed suicide by jumping out of the tank.

I guess I am lucky to have such a tight fitting hood . . I didn't realize SW fish were such jumpers. I have had a snail climb up out of the water and over the little plastic divide on my overflow and back down into the water on the other side in the rear chamber (or at least that is the only open way I could imagine it got there) but that's it so far.

I have a 2 yr old YWG who will jump out of the tank when startled at night. I have the smallest mesh top and I have no clue how he manages to leap out. Luckily it’s by my bed so I can throw him back in but I’m sure he’s got some brain damage from all the suicide attempts!

I have a bicolor blenny that does the exact same thing. Every time I push the feed hold button it goes right into the dang thing. Somehow it knows when it’s going to come back on so it hasn’t been a blended blenny lol.

Member of the Suicide squad?

Cleaner wrasse leapt to its death a while back. Found the smallest, wrasse sized hole in the lid.

Might call my converted mollies suicidal as they are constantly pestering my eel, which could easily eat every one of them.
