A year ago I had an old sand bed and the triton test for sulphur was normal. I put in a new tank with a new sand bed and for the past year the triton tests had elevated sulphur (in the yellow).

Any ideas on how to lower the sulphur readings?

Is there anything that would consume sulphur?

I dose iron.

Everything is doing good in the tank except Euphyllia, which seems to be starving?

Sulfur in a Triton test is nearly entirely sulfate. It has nothing to do with sand beds or hydrogen sulfide. Sulfate is the third most abundant ion by weight in seawater.

If it is high, it may just mean the salinity is high. It might also mean the chloride to sulfate ratio is off from the salt mix, or using excessive sulfate-containing additives (such as magnesium sulfate).

Can you post your full Triton result?

Yes Randy,

3 ml Iron per week
1 ml Cobalt per week
1 ml Chromium per week

I'm going to try dosing AcroPower because the Euphyllia won't grow in my Triton system. I looks like they're starving.
