summer's approaching, watch that tank temp

Just a reminder.

If you're like me, I always get nervous around this time of year. I live in Akron, Ohio and we see temperature swings of 30F degrees. Last night I started my air conditioning because my house temp reached 81F. I always seem to start my AC earlier then most because of my tank. Any others who have this issue?

I use aquarium chiller to maintain the temp.

My tank is situated in the basement, it is an in-wall tank. The back of the tank is in my furnace room. During summer we run the AC so my water temperature starts dropping like crazy. Summer is the only time I have to run a heater. Winter I am fortunate the room has a window and if it gets too hot I just open the window and drop the temp in entire room. Opening the window during summer usually means a plethora of bugs coming in.

Yess! This week in jersey its been 85 and up all week when it was 55 last week so i put an air unit in the room of my tank last weekend.

I have noticed, I am using my heater outlet on apex for my fuge light ;Wacky and the light has been out during the day and as it cools in the evening it pops back on.

Same my AC is back. I had to set up room to 72 on the first day to bring things back to normal. In summer I maintain the room @ 76, keeps my tank @78. Good reminder

I live in Boston and temps here are crazy to say the least. I usually set the AC to constant 78 degrees in from now on and let a couple of wall fans hooked up to my Reefkeeper on either side of my tank do the rest. It usually never fluctuates more than .02 degrees. Allot more water evaporation though, but it doesn't bother me.
